The International Trade & Industries division at PRAC focuses on addressing a broad spectrum of trade-related issues and industry dynamics. Our efforts encompass negotiating free trade agreements with diverse nations, promoting trade, and tackling non-tariff barriers and regulatory obstacles that impede the seamless flow of goods across international borders. We actively explore opportunities to enhance exports and pursue import substitution strategies to strengthen domestic industries. Additionally, we identify and address anomalies in tariff structures to ensure fair and equitable trade practices. We engage deeply with stakeholders, particularly traders, to grasp their challenges thoroughly. By conducting detailed economic analyses, we develop informed policy recommendations and engage actively in advocacy with pertinent government bodies. Emphasizing a collaborative approach, we partner with leading organizations such as the United Nations Global Compact Network, the Indonesian Government, the Ministry of Commerce, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, and Lahore University of Management Sciences, among others, to enhance trade relations and foster economic growth. Key engagements and advocacy initiatives of the team are as follows:
The Policy Research & Advisory Council (PRAC) is an independent think-tank with the mandate to provide input for forward-looking policies and advocate for economic and business interests through rigorous research and informed advocacy.
